My Dear Mrs. Peabody, How delightful to have again been in the company of our dear friend, and how fortuitous to find lodgings at the tavern of Mr. Bigelow while you care for your ailing relations. Never have I experienced such beastly heat in June., to say that the weather was unseasonable hot would an understatement. How we must greatly admire those hardy Amazon warrier princesses who make their way amongst the opressive conditions of the jungles, if only we had their fortitude. The weekend past I dare say seems to have left all of us in a weakened state, and the carriage ride home was, as expected, an ordeal. May you be able to delay your travels back to Salem until this weather has past and then once again enjoy the sea breezes of that lovely harbor. My sisters send their best wishes and hopes that we are able to visit again soon. the heat as well as feeding gin to her ailing relations, she delayed
dressing till her company had arrived.

Had it not been for the company of you and your sisters, it would have been unbearable. I am happy to report that my relations are in better health and as the winds have now changed and brought better weather, I may begin my journey home. I shall write on my next stop, as my carriage awaits and I wish to arrive in Boston by nightfall. With affection, Mrs. Peabody |
